In modern data center management, the mixing of hot and cold air is the primary enemy of energy efficiency. GSPE’s Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) stands as a thermal architecture solution designed to fundamentally address this challenge.

What Is Hot Aisle Containment?
Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) works by constructing an airtight physical barrier (hermetic barrier) around the server's hot aisle. This system strictly isolates high-temperature exhaust air emitted by IT equipment, preventing it from mixing with the rest of the data center room.
Unlike traditional passive cooling systems, HAC transforms the hot aisle into a dedicated return plenum. This creates a low-resistance path for hot air to return directly to the cooling unit intake.
Technical Advantages and Thermal Efficiency
Implementing HAC transforms the cooling infrastructure from a passive mixing environment into a precisely engineered active system. Here are the key benefits :
Increased Cooling Capacity: HAC dramatically increases the effective capacity of existing CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioner) units.
Return Air Optimization: By channeling unmixed exhaust air directly to the CRAC, the system significantly raises the Return Air Temperature.
Energy Efficiency (Sensible Cooling): Hot return air with low relative humidity shifts cooling coil operations almost entirely to sensible cooling (lowering temperature) rather than latent cooling (removing moisture), which is far more energy-efficient.
Operational Cost Savings: When installed correctly, the use of containment systems can yield cooling cost reductions of 10 - 40%.
This product is designed to high standards and supports local content regulations with a TKDN certification of 55%. Its main components include :
Automatic Doors : Automatic Sliding Door system with biometric security access options such as fingerprint or RFID.
Physical Security : Robust frame material with IK10 protection rating compliant with IEC 62262 standards, equipped with smoke detectors and emergency doors.
Modular Design : Components are modularly designed to allow for rapid on-site deployment and adaptability for future expansion (pay-as-you-grow).
By preventing hot air recirculation into the cold intake stream (bypass airflow), HAC ensures a pristine thermal environment for your sensitive hardware while significantly suppressing operational costs.
